He paid the sum immediately. . - Chief-Detective Hammond said James was detected taking bets in front of the enclosure. When found by Detective O’Sullivan, James had between £6O and £7O on him. He was merely a silver “Mr Sly” bettor operating in front of the toibafisator, and was only in a small way of business.
