GOOD WISHES FOR BYRD EXPEDITION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Dec. 3. On the eve of the departure of the Byrd Expedition, for tho Antarctic, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, on behalf of the people of New Zealand, extended to the expedition cordial, good wishes for tile success of the undertaking. The Prime Minister stated that New. Zealand would render all assistance in its power should' the occasion arise. Commander Bvrd replied expressing gratitude for hospitality and l the offer of assistance.
