MOTORIST FINED £lO. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Oct. 29. Frederick William Dorn, of Kairangu, a fanner, was fined £lO in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, and ins license was endorsed for being drunk while in charge of a motor lorry. SUPREME COURT AT DUNEDIN DUNEDIN, Oct. 29. ' Prisoners sentenced to-day were: Clarence Wilfred Dudley, aged 39, a married man, was ordered eighteen months’ reformative detention for indecently assaulting a young girl. Charles Campbell, Edmond George Ludwig and Ronald Francis Montgomery, for breaking and entering by night with intent, were ordered to pay the costs of prosecution and to take out prohibition orders, and to come up for sentence if called on within twelve months. In a; case against Bertie Williams, who pleaded guilty in the lower court to indecently assaulting a- male, counsel asked that the plea ho reversed to not guilty under the Medical Defectives Act. The application was granted and the accused will now go for trial. PRISONERS SENTENCED. WELLINGTON, Oct. 27. Prisonera 1 sentenced by Mr Justice Ostler to-day were: Kenneth Jack Fryer, aged 19, for breaking and entering ahd theft . a.t Hawera. to two years in a Borstal institution. A prisoner, aged 19, whose name was suppressed, wae given two years on probation for forging another person’s name to a cheque. Paul Ludwig Ernest Franckjri, for indecent assault on a male at Pai'/mprston North, was given four years’ hard labour. ■Edward Bush, aged 24, for carnal knowledge at Wellington (four charts) was given six months’ hard labour. A, ta,lioness, whose name was suppressed. was adniiitted to probation for a year for theft.
