RIVAL PARTIES.
BIG DISPLAY OP STRENGTH PREPARATIONS FOR. BATTLE. (United Pfess Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) —United Service). VIENNA, Oct. 5. A great gathering at Wiennemeustadt on October 7 will represent a display of the strength in which the three parties, namely, the Heimwest Austrian Fascists, the Sehutzband Socialists and the Government are participating. The town resembles a field ready for battle. Twenty thousand Socialists are parading, while an equal number of Fascists are also parading as a counterdemonstration. The Fascists are assembling at the opposite end of the town to the Socialists,. while between the two parties are the Government forces of 2000 steel-helmeted soldiers and 300 gendarmes, who have Austria’s only motor field battery, two horse batteries and machine-guns in order to prevent a clash. Three hundred extra beds have been provided in the hospital, while thirty stretches are available. The schoolboys have vacated the boarding senoo', which will be used as barracks. All army leave has been stopped. The Socialists intend to prevent a rumoured Fascist march on Vienna analagous to Mussolini’s march on Rome.
