MINIATURE RIFLE SHOTS.
HAWERA CLUB CONTESTS. Great interest was evinced in the teams buttons shoot on the Hawera Miniature Rifle Club’s range last night, when two challenges were put in against the holders, who went down for the first time by the margin ot three points. Following are the results, the winning team being mentioned first: A. Elgar 49, T. Ingram 48 Douo-las Buist 47, Audrey Harding 44’; total 188. C. Arnold 48. Mrs. Veitch 47, R. Allan 47, Kathleen Petersen 43 -. total 185. G. Harding 45, J. Rae '46, A. Wright 45, James Buist 47; total 183. The buttons are to be fired ior again next Friday evening. A number of teams are after them, as interest is very keen. The individual button shoot will he hold on Tuesday evening. Both ladies and gentlemen will shoot for thenrespective buttons on the same eveninThe championship teams shoots have started, and the first round closes on Friday. October 12. Anvone tvho has not then fired will he replaced.*
