CHILD FATALLY BURNT. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 14. Joan Tilsen, aged two, died in the hospital yesterday as a result of burns received through falling into a fire at her home in Sydenham St.

MILL WORKER INJURED. TAUM'ARUNUI, Aug. 14. A mill worker named Waiter Dentley, aged ad, Lad his chest crushed between the mill engine and log at Waione siding. His ribs were iractured and ho received injuries to- his lungs. He was removed to the hospital last night, where he is progressing satisfactorily.

DEATH OF A MOTORS CYCLIST PALMERSTON N., Aug. 14. An inquest was held this morning into the circumstances surrounding the death of Hugh Moore, aged 20, of Kimbolton, who died from injuries received in a motor cycling accident on the Feiiding-Cheltenham road. The evidence showed that the deceased’s cycle skidded in loose metal while travelling at a good rate of speed. The cause of the accident was quite clear, said the coroner. It was simply a case of a fast moving motor cyclist coming to grief through skidding. A verdict of accidental death was returned.

SHEEPEARMER FOUND DEAD TAIHAPE, Aug. 14. The body of a well-known farmer named Patrick Murphy, aged 67, a bachelor, was found in a padodck on Jus farm at Ghatu, lour miles from Taihape, yesterday. A loaded gun was alongside. He had been hunting a stray dog. At the inquest this morning a verdict was returned of death from natural causes. He had Buffered from heart trouble.

DIED OF INJURIES. DUNEDIN, Aug. 14. Robert Kean, bosun of the steamer Huntingdon, who yesterday fell down the vessel’s hold, fracturing both legs, died in the hospital this morning.
