In a letter forwarded to Mr J . R. Corrigan, chairman of the Hawera Coop. Dairy Company, one of the settlers, Mr C. N. Vickridge, who is at present on a visit to England makes reverence to the trial shipment of vacuum packed Hawera butter, the arrival of which in London during the middle of. June formed the subject of an article in the “Star” on June 19. “The results are very gratifying the butter equally' at least the first’grade Danish,” writes ' : \f r Vickridge. 1 'There l is no oompfirison between tlje case butter and that in the containers and when the alterations suggested conceiving a more easily opened container are made there will be, I am confident, a very ready sale for all the butter we can send from New Zealand.” Mr Vickridge expects to be back in Hawera towards the end of September.
