SENTENCES AT CHRISTCHURCH

(By Telegraph — Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 5. George Elgar Pengelly, alias David James ° Williams, was sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment at the Supreme Court for housebreaking and theft. , Joseph Edward Bell, aged 51, received twelve months’ imprisonment for carnal knowledge of a girl aged 13. Erauk Nicholls Walker received two years’ imprisonment on seven charges of breaking, entering and theft. Cyril Loujs Walter Withell was sentenced to two years for theft and forgery. , „ Harold John Raymond Brunsden was admitted to probation for three years for theft of £l7 while employed as a postal officer.
