LADIES’ HOCKEY
HAWERA ROVERS 7 v. TECHNICAL SCHOOL. B NIL.
This m atoli took place at Haw era yesterday afternoon. From tike bully off Rovers assumed command and were continually in School's twenty-five, Where good work by the School’s fullbacks drove them back continually, but Rovers were not to foe denied and towards the middle of the game Rovers soor-ed a goal. Further good work by the Rovers br ought another score about twenty minutes after commencing. From this on play travelled op and down field and the spell ended with the bail in neutral territory. On commencement of the second spell, it was soon seen that Rovers were to have the upper hand and; they started, to pile on the points, scoring five goals in the second spell. School played well in the first spell, but went to pieces in the .second, the backs played well, especially the goalkeeper, who saved some nice shots, the forwards lacked sting and this allowed Rovers’ backs to clear time and time again. , , , Rovers played fair hockey, but were inclined to hang on too long to the ball, also to bunch. The game was refereed by All* Jt. scorers were: Misses Prime (3). Langford 1 (2), Death. (1), Clapham (1). RAMBLERS 2 v. MAN AT A 1. This game resulted in a win for Ramblers by two goals to one. Scorers for Haw era were Misses WooTlSams and A. Conway, whilst Miss Wilson scored for ManaiaMr. J ohnson,refereed.
