During the Air Force’s effective bombing and pursuit of the A\ r aliabi raiders under lam Akwan, who attacked lvoweit on January 30, flying officer Rolf Jackson was fatally shot down. His aeroplane was burnt and his mechanic was reported to be captured. Two thousand of Akwan’,s warriors who had crossed the Iraq border attacked a- large Jowarin encampment on January 20. A pitched battle resulted in 80 being killed and 200 wounded. Akwan’s casualties were heavier and lie lost all his flocks and herds. —A.P.A. and “Sun.”
