THRILLS AT ST. MORITZ.
BELGIAN KING ON SPEEDWAY. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received 10.30 a.m. to-day. . LONDON, Jan. 6. The “Daily Mail’s” St. Moritz correspondent states that King Albert of Belgium had the thrill of his life when a bob sleigh, in which he was descending the St. Moritz run at forty miles an hour, skidded and bumped badly at the Shamrock corner, hurling out Lord Northesk, who was acting as brakesman. Dudley Delavargnes managed to wriggle backwards to a vacant seat, pulling King Albert by the seat of his trousers until the balance of both was restored. At the end of the run the King inquired of Lord Northesk, whose back was injured, adding: “It was the greatest thrill, even greater than the ■war or even motoring. ’ ’ King Albert, who is the first reigning monarch to descend at St. Moritz, suffered abrasions of an elbow. —“Sydney Sun” cable.
