THE HOPE CASE. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 13. Judgment was given by Mr. Hunt, S.M., in the case against John William Hojk;. The magistrate found that defendant’s identity had. been established, and sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment, warrant to he suspended as long as the maintenance order in favour of bis wife was complied with and he pays 10s per week off the arrears. FINE OF £2O. AUCKLAND, Oct. 13. Harold McLoughen, 24, the driver of the car that crashed into an electric light standard last night, was fined £2O for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car. GAME, SHOT WITHOUT A LTOENCSE HOKITIKA, Oct. 13. At the Magistrate’s Court, _on charges of shooting native game without a license, three South Westland vouths were fined £5 each and ordered to pay costs. Another resident was fined £2 on a similar charge, and another, for having- native game in his possession, was fined 10s.
