NEW ZEALAND ROAD TITLE. FIFTY-MILE AUCKLAND EVENT. (by telegraph—press association.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 11. Tlie. fifty miles amateur cycling road race cliamnionship of New Zealand was decided yesterdav afternoon. A feature of the race was the success of Auckland riders, who filled Hie first six places and secured fastest and second fastest time.
The winner, J. H. Wade, off 4min., had matters his own way .at the finish, crossing the line with a good deal in hand. He also secured fastest time. He is a promising rider and is only 164 years old. C. G. Galbraith, who won second fastest time, was on the same, mark a® Wade, finishing 22sec. after him. The scratch division did not meet with success McFrederios and Carswell, both,of Woffington, being thp only two to finish. C. Ericsson. Wanganui - Taranaki, met with a mishap which necessitated hospital treatment. Results: — ,J. H.
