Jackson, president of the Eltham-Takou Sheep Dog Trial Club, states in his report, to be presented at the. annual meeting gtf members: “Although the prize-money has been considerably increased and other expenses of a like nature incurred, yet the nett profit is greater than that of last year. The amount placed on fixed deposit is now £9O, which should be considered very satisfactory, 'the number of dogs competing this year constituted a record for the club, and the average work showed a marked improvement in comparison with previous trials. The suggestion in regard to altering the name of the club was .approved at- the last annual meeting, and lias already proved a benefit, financially and otherwise. In view of the position the olub holds in regard to all other clubs in Taranaki an application for holding the championship meeting at Alangamingi an 1928 would be justified.
