That the Albanian President, Zogu Pasha, received £140,000 for signing a pact at Tirana, giving Italy a virtual protectorate over Albania, is one of the allegations made by M. Calcucci, exGovernor of Valona, who escaped from prison at Tirana, where lie was confined on account of his criticism of Zogu s policy. M. Calcucci, who has arrived at Belgrade, further alleges that terror is now reigning in Albania. All males from the ages of 22 to 23 are mobilised. Italy, he’alleges, is landing war material at Valona and Durazzo.
