WOMEN IN PARLIAMENT.
AN AUSTRALIAN REQUEST. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 12.15 p.m. to-day. SYDNEY, March 9. A deputation representing the Labour women’s -organisation waited ou the Governor, and urged him to give favourable consideration to the Government’s request that labour women nominees should be appointed to the Legislative Council. The Governor replied that no additional grounds were put forward' why the appointments should be made, but he would keep in mind for future reference the representation made.
