Dogged bv wretched weather and one or two minor mishaps, Ellis, Dirties and party have arrived at Constantinople, and are busy refitting the car for the passage over Asia, where they are hopeful that better weather will be experienced. The most trying incident in crossing Europe- was the pessimistic prophesies at Belgrade that they would never negotiate the famous snow-lined Dragoman Pass. Indeed, odds were. one hundred to one against them, because only three cars have managed it since the war, and then only in the summer time The oar lias to be hauled by bullocks, but the three Australians, with an aimed pilot, confounded the pessimists. The feat was highly acclaimed in Sofia, where they were entertained by Sir W. Erskme, also the Spanish consul. . ... / Ellis and his companions-, who are in the best of health, are touring the world in a motor car.
