Geikie Cobb, robed in chasuble and man,pie, Avhich have not: vet been officially sanctioned, thouga he has used them for the past half century, attended by two women altar solvers, began the reA’ised form of serA’ice at Saint Ethelburga’s, Bishops-, gate, The congregation rose and protested against its continuance, because the neAv prayer book had not been ratified. Mr. Cobb said that such an interruption Avas legally classifiable as braAvling.He explained that he desired to alloAV the congregation to see lioav the service Avorked, Avhereupon a woman rose up, briefly joined in the protest, and then Avallced out. accompanied by a male interjector. There Avas no further interruption. Mr. Cobb subsequently said that he had been tolcl that his Bishop regarded his action as very grave. This made him smile. '
