BEAM WIRELESS.
CAUSE OF DEFECTS IN AUSTRALIAN SERVICE.

While Maroonis are most reticent as to the reasons for the Australian beam station’s failure to satisfy contract conditions, it is learned that the trouble is due principally to land lines at both ends, also to defective receiving apparatus, which is unable to keep pace with the rapid transmission. Mareonis state that' both the Australian and English stations are being comp etely overhauled, ,1b is further learned from a most reliable quarter that it will be probably three months before the. beam service will be w r orking. At present there is no indication of the date at which the tests will be resumed, but the Post Office research officers have unshaken faith that a commercial services will ultimately be achieved.
