MODEL AGRICULTURE.
WAIMATE WEST FARM. The monthly meeting of the Waimate West Demonstration Farm Committee was held yesterday, when there were present: Messrs J. W. Deem (chairman> E. Long, J F. Stevenson, J. Leslm, R. Dunn, F._ Moune, Sir Vm. Le Fleming, anu the farm manager, Mr 1. Paterson. An apology was received from Mr J. S. Mac Kay. The chairman reported that tnere were 55 cows in milk at present and’s9 on the farm. The milk for yesterday had amounted to 174-2 lbs. The butterfat to the end 6f November amounted to 7599 lbs, being an increase of 2311 lbs over the amount taken for the same period of last year. Twelve pigs were sold during the month at sixpence per lb, and seven weaners at £l. Lucerne and oat ensilage had been cut and stacked, this work being finished on November 29. It was decided to purchase implements for stacking and sweeping of hay and ensilage. Mr Geo. Cowling waited on the committee with a request for permission to tap the farm water supply to supply his own property. —This was granted on condition that a stop-cock be installed which would allow the supply to be cut out if additional pressure were required on the farm. Accounts totalling £52 Is 3d were passed for payment.
