A young solicitor, whose name meantime was suppressed, w*asi charged at the Magistrate’s Court with the theft at Auckland of £6OO, the property of Margaret Wood. The police stated that other informations were pending which, according to .accused's own statement, might involve £SOOO. On counsel seeking bail when accused was remanded to appear at Auckland on September 8, the police stated that it wag suggested that accused had 1 spoken of suicide. Bait of £SOO was given, accused to report to the police daily.
