Messrs, Dal get y and Company Ltd., (Wei 1 ing ton) report: We held our -second opossum skin sale on Thursd-iy, when we offered a large catalogue of -all grades and colours-, to a full attendance of buyers, representing all the principal fur selling houses in New Zealand, also exnorters, furriers, tanners and the local trade. O'ur offering of 3,000 -skins comprised skins chiefly drawn from the Wellington, district. Nelson, Taranaki and the West- Coast-. The quality of the skins offered was a little better than at the July sale, and prices were very firm. Buyers -are Mill very cautious and ia,re .only prepared to pay "nod prices for .absolutely sound skins. Blues- and Greys came in for -special attention. fhe former selling up to 11s 6d °ach and the latter 9s 8d each. Kitty n-s, lumpers, inferior and damaged Mins were hard to dispose of and sold from Is to- 3s each.
