MATAPU FARMERS’ UNION.

GOOD AVORK ACKNOAVLEDGFD. At the social given by the Alatapu branch of the Farmers’ Union on Friday night, a preseneation of a handsome travelling bag was made to Air R. C. Theweek, to mark members’ appreciation of the excellent work done by him as lion, secretary for the past four years. In making the presentation, the president (Air I’. Hoskin) said Air Treweek’s work had been a. distinct value to the farmers of the district generally. In replying, Air Trevveek said he was very pleased to have been able to do something for tlie cause of the union, in which he took a great interest. He assured Air Hoskin and his fellowfarmers that lie would always treasure the gift as a reminder of the good work done by members of the branch. At the conclusion of Air Treweek’s speech the company rose and sang “For He’s a Jolly ood Fellow.”
