AIEETING OF COUNCIL. A meeting of the council of the New Zealand Friesian Association was held in Palmerston. North, with Air. H. J. M a reliant (vice president) in the chair. The following were added to the official judges.’ list: F l . Crump, Springscon, Canterbury; J. H. Grigg, Longbeach; G. Lollhiageu, Rangiora; 0. A. Cacliwallader, Greytowu; Jas. Stevenson, Taupini, Waikato ; W. 11. Wright, Eiahotn, Tara oak i. Messrs W. E. A. Gill, D. Dickie, and H. J. Ala reli a nt, were appointed a committee to arrange lor the publication of a pamphlet on the Friesian breed in New Zealand. It was resolved, in accordance with wishes of various branch associations, to strengthen the office staff, so that the secretary should have more time to visit various parts* of the Dominion for lecture and demonstration work.
The North Island champion cups for bull and cow for 1926 were awarded to the Stratford* A. and P. Association, and the South island cups to the Southland A. and" P. Association. In connection with the Rbyal Agricultural 'Society’s Show at Auckland in November of this year, a vote of £SO w'as made as prize money for the provincial Friesian group competition of seven animals (two males, five females) representing each ol the six provinces. The sum of £ls was voted towards the payment of expenses* of an Australian judge for the Friesian section. The Derby prize money for the 19eonijixibitiou was allotted as follows, 'leu prizes, £65, £3O, £ls. £lO, £7, £6, £4, £3. £2. Messrs W. E. A. Gill. I>. Dickie am. the secretary (Air. J. P. Kalaugher) were appointed to represent the Friesian Association at a conference in Wellington on July 12, called by the New Zealand Herd Testing Association. In connection with, the Federation o Taranaki Go-operative Dairy Companies’ proposal to* conduct* an experiment at Tokaora to determine the value for cheesemalring of the milk of various dairy breeds, it was; decided to vote a substantial amount to the cost of the periment. Air. H. E. Johnson was appointed to watch the c-onduct* of the investigation work. It was resolved to vote £5 to the Manawatu A. and P. Association towards the cost of furnishing its Breeders’ Club* Rooms. The following herd names (among others) were approved: Okaiawa, E. J. Betts; and Tokaora. H. E. Johnson.
