A warning that hotelkeepers should not allow bookmakers to use their premises was issued by Air. Tate, S.AI., at the Taranaki Licensing Com. mittee meeting to-day. He said that the committee desired to suggest to licensees, in their own interests, that it was most undesirable for them to allow bookmakers to frequent their premises. If they did so they were putting their licenses in jeopardy. AWARD FOR DAIRY FACTORY E AI PLOY EES. DUNEDIN, June 2. At a meeting of the South Island Dairy Association a- motion was carried that steps be taken with a view to securing a Dominion award for dairy factory employees, and representatives were appointed to proceed to Wellington to confer with other representatives to see if some common basis to work on could be arranged.
