BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COP YBIGHT.
LONDON, April 29
The Daily Express says that, there is a remarkable slump in nitrate shares A dozen of the leading securities have fallen £1,750,000, chiefly owing to the success of chemists in making synthetic nitrate from the air. The Aguas Blancas shares were 33s 6d at the beginning of the present account, but are now 20s, as it is announced that no final dividend will be paid, though 50 per cent, has been paid for the last three years. Other nitrate companies nave experienced equally sensational falls. Santiagos, which were 45s on Monday, relapsed to 22s 6d, and are now at 27s 6d
