DISHONEST OFFICIALS DEALT WITH. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, April 2ft. At the Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Herdman dealt with the case's of two postal officials on charges of theft in their capacity a.s officers of a Government department. In the ease of Charles Joseph Hugh Curry, who had admitted nine charges of theft, the accused’s good official record previously was urged' by counsel. The judge said that accused had held, a position of trust and had committed thefts on nine occasions. He would be detained for reformative treatment for twelve months. John William Robert Gussy- admitted seven charges of theft as a postal official. He was temporarily employed at Porootarao. Hie accused, who had two previous convictions, was sentenced to twelve months’ hard labour.
