British land Dominion traders acre delighted with the Budget jn'oiposatL to stabilise preferences for ten years, considering that it removes the annual fear of ialte.ria.tdon or revocation, which had previously been the greatest deterrent to the fullest exploitation of the Empire’s commodities. Mr. Ben Morgan said: “It means an enormous advance in the development' of preferences and will, justify’ the employment of greater qa/pital in Empire industries, resulting in an expansion of interEmpire trade.” The motor trade points out that the extension of the McKenna, duties to commercial vehicles will assist the development of exports, which will' he further stimulated if petrol, instead of hor.se-po.wer, is hdxed .in 1927 .as promised, resulting in the more extensive manufacture of long stroke engines suitable for Dominion requirements. — Sydney Sun Gable.
