SEARCH ’PLANE SENT OUT. BUT MEETS WITH ENGINE TROUBLE. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COP YRIGHT. VANCOUVER, April 26. The aeroplane Detroiter started .from Fairbanks. Alaska, to-day jn search for Captain Wi’kins and Lieut. Eilse-n, but returned early this afternoon, one of the engines having failed: The Detroiter had to jettison some of her cargo before she could 1 -rise. Then she started northwards at 100 miles per hour. She almost .reached the Arctic Circle, when the engine- failed. The compasses also needed adjustment, and it was deemed advisable to return to Fairbanks.
