WAVERLEY.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ANZAC DAY. It is proposed to liold the usual combined service in the Town Hall at 2.80 p.lll. on Sunday, the 2oth inst. As there is no sealing- accommodation at the War .Memorial, it was considered that a long service there would lie too much for elderly people. POTTY DAY. Poppy Day is fixed for Friday next, when the ladies’ committee, which has kindly taken this matter in hand, will again be selling poppies on that day. The public, is reminded that the proceeds from these sales are placed to the credit of the local R.S.A.’s unemployment fund, which is ear-marked for the express purpose .of alleviating distress among disabled soldiers and their dependents in the Wavcrlcy district. NO LIGHTS. The prolonged dry conditions provailing in this district are becoming very serious indeed. We are now without lights, and it is only a question of weeks and we shall very probably be without water, unless rain comes very soon.
