MOTOR CYCLIST HURT. (Bsr TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) HASTINGS, April 17. A motor-cycle' with side-chair attached) ridden by a young man named Trevor Minnis, collided with another solo motor-cycle at an intersection last evening. The impact was not very serious, but just after the collision the front of the cycle ridden by Minnis slewed round and the handle bar struck him in the groin, inflicting severe in juries, necessitating his removal to the hospital, where an operation was performed. ‘ His condition is serious. CANOPUS STILL IDLE. - CHRISTCHURCH, April 17. The Canopus, with Westport coal for discharge, is still idle at Lyttelton. CRUSHED BY A HORSE HAMILTON, April 17. Alfred Main, aged 63, a farmer at Tamahcre, and one of the oldest residents of the district, succumbed last night to injuries received through a restive drought horse which he was leading falling on him.
