(From Our Own Correspondent.)' The county staff have made a start with the metalling and tarring of the Inaha hill on the South Road. It will be quite a treat to he able to get up and down the hill without having to be in fear of breaking a spring or an axle, as the hill in its present state is getting dangerous.
The dry weather of the past month or two is having a serious effect on the milk supply. Several herds are being milked once a day already, and it will not be long before they all are on once a day. The many friends of Mrs. R. H. Wilkie will be pleased to hear that she has recovered sufficiently to he able to return home after having undergone an operation in the Hawera Hospital. Little Phyllis Spooner, who has "been an inmate of a private hospital in Hawera, has returned home. Mr. E. Griffen, who has been spending a holiday with relations in Welturned home last week.
Mr. A. Jackson is at present spending a holiday with relations in We-1 lington.
