PIHAMA.

(Froau Our Own Correspondent). OPENING DANCE. A most enjoyable evening was spent on Friday, when a large number of people gathered to celebrate the opening dunce of the season in Pihama. The ha.ll was tastefully decorated, with palms and with .jacapodium fern intertwined. with eucalypti and, silver streamers. The vari-ooloured evening frocks of the la'dies and the more sombre attire of the men, together with the beautiful background of the decorations, presented; a striking and animated scene. A dainty supper was served and added, not a little ,to the enjoyment of the evening. Miss Pollock and Messrs Clarke and Ritiana rendered much appreciated extras to the music of Taylor’s orchestra. Altogether the dance was a great success, and reflected much credit, on the organiser, Mr D. Pollock.
