DELIBERATIONS AT DUNEDIN. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Feb. 18. At the University Senate this morning, in accordance with notice of motion, Mr Bakewell moved that the Senate, appoint Suva as a centre for the matriculation and accountancy preliminary examinations, _ the object being to obviate the necessity of candidates coming to Auckland. The motion was ruled out of order, having been referred previously to a committee. to which now the mover was added.

Sir Robert Stout gave notice of motion that the conferring of degrees at a public meeting be discontinued, provision being made for conferring them in private.
