BOXING.
Tlie National Boxing Commission of the United States has named the following as the bona fide champions of their divisions:
Flyweight—Fidel La Barba. Bantamweight—Phil Bosenberg. Featherweight—Kid Kaplan. Lightweight —Johnny Goodrich. Welterweight—Mickey Walker. Middleweight—Harry Greb. Light heavyweight —Paul Berienbach
Heavyweight —Jack Dempsey. La Barba’s rise lias been meteoric. When Paneho Villa died Frankie Genaro, who was the only boxer who had got a decision over' the Filipino, was named champion. Then La Barba, who is not yet 21, beat Genaro. Is a judge' at a boxing contest within his rights in ordering a second away from the ringside? The question is being hotly debated in fighting circles as the result of the action taken by Mr. J. W. IT. T. Douglas at the National’Sporting Club, when he ordered one of Mick Hill’s seconds out of the building because of his failure to stop talking. It is, of course, within the referee’s discretion to issue any kind of instruction he pleases, but for a judge to take the law into his own hands is entirely novel
