M. HERRIOT ACCEPTS THE PREMIERSHIP. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT. PARIS; Nov. 25. Following the refusal of M. Doumer to form a Cabinet, the task was undertaken by M. Herriot, who was Premier from .June, If 24, till April, 1925, being succeeded by M. Painleve’s Cabinet, which was recently reconstructed, but was defeated in the Chamber on an article in its financial programme.
