FRENCH ADOPT MARTI AL LAW. TO DEAL WITH BRIGANDAGE. BV GABLE-PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT PARIS, Nov. 25. Advices from Beirut state that martial law has been proclaimed in the towns of Damascus, Sandjako and Hauran owing to continued brigandage. It is officially explained that the proclamation of martial law does not in any way denote an aggravation of the situation. It has been proclaimed with a view to the rapid restoration of order.
