IN BANKRUPTCY.
ESTATE OF L. H. WINWOOD. A meeting of creditors in the estate of Lewis Henry Wimvod, of Patea, labourer, was called for yesterday afternoon, but as none of the creditors appeared it lapsed for want of a quorum. Mr. Bailey appeared 'on behalf of the bankrupt. In his written statement' bankrupt said that in 1919 he took over an O'.R/.P. farm of 940 acres at Moeroa, near Eltham, from F. Duckworth, 200 acres of which were in grass. The slump forced him to walk off in 1921, leaving him very much in debt. He had been struggling to pay off his debts while labouring, but owing to sickness he found it impossible to make headway. An accident had incapacitated him for nine months. As he had been sued for debt he had had no recourse other than to file a petition in bankruptcy. Bankrupt’s statement showed unsecured creditors’ accounts to a total of £3ll 15s 4d. There were no assets. The list of unsecured creditors was as follows: Haworth (Patea) £6 6s id, Lund £6 16s 9d. Taylor 13s 9d, White £2 12s lOd, Dr. Stevens (Stratford) £2 12s 6d T. B.
