NOTICE OP INTENTION TO STEIKE BATES. •VTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that ■ IV the Hawera Borough Council will, at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held at the Borough Council Chambers, situated! High 'Street, Hawera, on FRIDAY, 4th DECEMBER, 1925, at 7.30 p.m., make and levy the following rates for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1925, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1926, namely:— A General Rate under Sections 77 and 9S of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, ’ ’ of 1.27/lOOths of a'penny in the £ on- the rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Hawera on the basis of the unimproved value.. A Rate under Section 10 of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Amendment Act, 1923,” of 4.70/100ths of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough o£ Hawera on the basis of the annual value. A Water Rate (ordinary supply) under Sections 82 and 85 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” as follows: -On all lands and buildings within the Borough of Hawera to which water is supplied—(a) Where the annual rateable value does noti exceed £l2 10s, a rate of 10s. . (b) Where such value exceeds £l2 10s, a rate of 4 per centum. One-half of the respective water rates mentioned above on all land and buildings to which •water can be but is not supplied, situate within 100 yards from any part of the waterworks, and on all buildings other than dwelling houses. i That all the above rates be payable at the office of the Hawera Borough Council, situate in High Street, Hawera, in one sum on the sth day of December, 1925. That of the annually recurring special rates made and levied on all rateable property within the boundaries of the Borough prior to the alteration of such boundaries on the Ist day of April, 1925, the amounts in the £ hereinafter mentioned (on the basis of the unimproved' value) be collected for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1925, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1926, namely:— £1552 Street Improvements Loan—l's/1000ths of a penny in the £. £9OO Street Improvements Loan—--33/I'OOOths of a penny in the £. £26,929 Waterworks (Loan . 362/lOOOths of a penny in the £. £736S Drainage Loan —99/1000ths of a penny in the £. £4135 Drainage Extension Loan—.ss/1000ths of a penny in the £. £2700 Waterworks Improvement Loan —76/1000ths of a penny in the £. £12,850 Consolidation Loan —272/lOOOths of a penny in the £. £30,000 General Improvements Loan —693/lOOOths of a. penny in the

That the annually recurring special rates referred, to in this resolution be payable in the manner and on the dates fixed by the special orders or resolutions by which they were originally made.
