MOROCCAN CAMPAIGN
EUROPEAN OFFICERS.
DIRECT KRIM’S FORCES, COMPLAINTS ROM’DESERTERS. 13Y CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION —COPYBIGHT. LONDON, Nov. 1. Reuter’s Tangier correspondent says that advices from Arab and French sources show that the moving spirit behind the Riff resistance is an excaptain of the Prussian Guard, who joined the French Foreign Legion before the war. As a result of a scandal he became a sergeant and deserted to the Riffians in 1921. Ten German deserters from the Riffs surrendered this week. They complain bitterly of Abd-el-Ivrim’s hardness and declare that he shoots the faint-hearted without the slightest compunction. The Riff ian chief of artillery is a Serbian ex-colonel.
