TRAGIC AFFAIR.
GIRL ATTACKED WITH RAZORYOUNG MAN ARRESTED. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION-COPYBIGHT. SYDNEY, Nov. 2. Following on the death at .Tunee of Clare Browse, aged 17, a telephonist. Jack Smith, aged 18, a telegraph operator, has been arrested. It is stated that Smith had been paying his addresses to the girl and was repulsed. It is believed 1 she was attacked with a razor. She rushed into the house where she was boarding covered with blood, and died shortly afterwards. Police visited a room at the Junee Hotel and arrested Smith, who is said to have had two gashes, one being in the temple. He was bleeding profusely and was on the point of collapse.
