For cue licensing poll there will be 1,248,UUd papers iop the national issue, and 03,500 for the use of absent voters who are electors in no-iieensev areas. A total of 93,359 papers has been allotted for absent voters from all licensing areas who will be away from their district of registration on Wednesday next, and 208,000 for the following nolicense districts, where the question of local restorations is to be decided: Eden, Grey Lynn, Roskill, Ohinemuri, Masterton, Wellington South, Wellington Suburbs, Ashburton, Oamaru, Glutha, Matauia, and Invercargill. The ballot papers are distributed in accordance wtih the estimated voting strength of each polling place, and in addition to the voting forms about 48 different electoral forms and 29 licensing forms will be supplied to each polling booth. These include labels, instructions, envelopes, etc. There will be an average of three polling offices in each booth, in addition to the scrutineers. Each electoral de-puty-returning officer in charge of a booth is supplied with a pamphlet of instructions regarding the conduct of the electoral poll, and a similar booklet relative to tne licensing issues. Some idea of the extensive organisation the Chief Electoral Office has had to undertake will be realised when it is stated that there will be 3171 polling places throughout the Dominion, and that the approximate number of polling officers engaged by the department will be somewhere in the vicinity of 10,000. . , ..
