MR BALDWIN ATTACKED. LONDON, Oct. 11. “The nation’s discontented anxiety for the future has shaken even the magnificent discipline of the Conservative Party,” declared Sir Alfred Mond, M.P., in a speech at Weston-super-Mare. The speaker trenchantly attacked Mr Baldwin, whom he described as “the Hamlet of modern politics, who neither acts nor directs, hut merely philoeophises.”
