QUEEN CARNIVAL.
The- Country candidate’s concert party visited Ohangai on Wednesday evening. There was a large attendance and the programme was voted the best that had been submitted during the carnival. These contributing to the programme were Mr. G. Hardenberg, Misses Gladys and Mona Lay, Gunderson, Peddar, Harvey, Goodwin and the tiny tots. 'Mr. P. Sheehan in a few remarks said that although the town may appear to have an advantage in this contest, he hoped the country would get behind their candidate and do all possible to assist-in placing her at the top of the poll. A dance followed and the supper was kindly provided by the Ohangai ladies. Country people are asked to make an effort to ; place their candidate at the top. There is just a week to go, and if every country supporter does his bit there will be no doubt about the result. Donations, no matter how small, will all help, and can either be left or remitted to the organiser, Mr. W- Hawkins, Hawera, and will be duly acknowledged.
