BATHS IMPROVEMENT.

NEW SEATING ACCOMMODATION. Continuing its policy of keeping the appointments of, the public baths up to date, the Hawera Borough Council has provided additional and more comfortable seating accommodation. On the northern side of the baths the old seats have been demolished and others built under a more modern principle. These will accommodate _ about 130 more people than previously. This should prove of much benefit to the Swimming Club, which has always found the question of providing adequate seating a problem. An extra shower bath has also been added, and this should add considerably to the comfort of patrons by eliminating waiting. In order to comply with the wishes of a considerable section of the community the time-table this year has been altered to include mixed bathing on Wednesday afternoons,, which has long been advocated in view of the half-holiday. The baths will open for the season on Wednesday afternoon with mixed bathing, and it is believed that the opening day will be very popular.
