ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY.

REPEAT PERFORMANCE

MONDAY NEXT, OCTOBER 19,

In response to numerous requests the, executive of the Haver a. Orchestral Society have decided to give another performance of the programme that was so enthusiastically received last Thursday evening. The programme is of such good quality and so high a standard that it is certain musical people will appreciate the numbers the more'for hearing them again. All the items were very much, appreciated, especially the Jarnefeldt “Praeludium,” the “Contes de Hoffmann, ”• the Slavonic Rhapsody of Friedmann, and the Intermezzo “In a Monastery Garden.” These are all numbers that will be even more appreciated as they are better known. The assisting soloists — Mrs Elsie Garden, of Eltham, Mr T. Brookcr, of Opunake, and Mr G. Dick, flautist, of Stratford—all proved popular performers, and they will be again helping tl/e, society. It will be good news that the concert is to be repeated, for it always seems a pity that after all the work a society puts into rehearsal previous to the performance that they are not able to give the public more than one opportunity of hearing the results of that work.

Seats should be engaged at once because there is certain to be; a keen demand. Booking is at. Mrs Cook’s Store at the Opera House.
