FUTURE OF AVIATION.
GREAT AIR EXPRESSES. M. Louis Breguet, the noted French aeronautical engineer, predicts great developments in aeroplane construction. “1 have come to the conclusion,” lie says, “that an aeroplane can now lie constructed capab’e of flying from Paris to Bueno*. Aiies, with five landmss in two and a half days.” The aeroplane that M. Breguet conceives would be driven by 2000 horsepower engines at an average- speed oi 125 miles an hour and a maximum of 1.55 miles per hour. It would accommodate twenty passengers comfortably, beside.. a crew of seven or eight. Ful-y loaded, the machine would weigh fourteen or fifteen tons. “The results of scientific experiments.” M. Breguet says, “have led me to believe that the time is not far distant when even more powerful aeroplane*. wi'l be constructed, capable of " 'WT at from 250 to 300 miles per
hour.” M. Breguet says that he believes the principal French air lines in the future will be Paris-New York, Paris-Buenos Aires, via Dakar, and Paris Yokohama, via India.
