Motormau Peacock was pasisng through the tram and was nearly thrown out by the shock of the impact,' but recovered. - He went out to the motor-car and found Ryan ymg unconscious on the front seat, i'lie 'windshield was smashed, the steering wheel was broken, and this was damming the driver against the back of the seat. Ryan was sent to the hospital in a serious condition. The accident is inexplicable at present, but it is surmised that the tram, being in darkness for the moment, and Kyan having his own lights dimmed, did not notice it standing in the roadwav.
