FLOOR HOUSE BOYS

PALMERSTON N., July I

The annual reunion of Flock Hows© boys, extending over three days, concluded yesterday. Of the’ 25 boys comprising the first draft, twenty attended the function. The boys had assembled on the estate by Sunday, when a united user vice was conducted. Monday was devoted to athletic sports, and yesterday to soccer matches and other athletic events.

Addressing the lads at luncheon, the Hon. E. Newman (chairman of the trustees of the fund) said that 114 boys had come out under the scheme;. fiftj; had gone out to farmers in different parts of the Dominion and were earning wages and widening their expedience preparatory to being assisted by the fund to commence operations on their own account. The .speaker stressed the fact that the whole scheme must be made a commercial success. He was satisfied that they were working on the right lines. He exhorted the boys to be diligent, stating that the coping atone of the whole scheme was the knowledge obtained about what became of each boy.

Several letters received .from the farmers employing Flock House boys were read showing the progress made by them, also the care taken to make a success of the work.
