OHAWE DOMAIN BOARD.

SPECIAL MKET'ING. The special public meeting in connection with the Ohawe Domain Board, called for the purpose of electing a new board, aw required by the. Act, was held yefcserdav afternoon. Mr. E. Dixon presided over a very poor attendance. There were also present: Messrs. R. T. Bullock (, secretary), J. A. Duffill, E. Morrissey, and P. J. Mulla.il. _ , The. secretary stated, he had received a letter from, the Lnder-Secretary for Lands reminding hint that the term of office of the old board had expired and that it was necessary to appoint a new one as early a.si possible. I n February last the matter was discussed, and the secretary instructed to cal' a meeting in April. This was not done,, lie Mr. Bullock thought it was impossible to arouse the interest of those concerned. He considered it was, a. question of whether it wa«s worth while to carry on or should the board disband. The people of Ohawe should take up tlie. matter and appoint a new board themselves if t-liev thought it worth while. He .stated : hat he had received the resignation of Mr. J. Finlay; and that he hihuself found pressure of business too, great to continue the secretarial work any longer. ft was decided to. accept the resigniv fcin-nsi of Messrs. R. T. Bullock and J. Finlay with regret. > After some discussion the following were appointed to the board: Messrs. J. A. Duffill. E. Morrissey. J. B. Murdoch, E>. Dixon, E. E. Cameron. A. MU'Ogeridge. P. J. Multan, F. W. Sutton, and R. T. Bullock. Mr. E. K. Oa.meron was appointed secretary. It was decided to forward a letter of appreciation to Mr. Finlay for his service of long standing. A vote of, thanks was passed to Mr. Bullock for his service as secretary'. A donation of. £5 from the Ohawe Seaside Committee was acknowledged. At a meeting of the new boa.rd Mr. E. Dixon was appointed rli oilman.
